About Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is about 39,206 hectares and is located in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The ecosystem mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya-Tanzania border.


Amboseli National Park is home to many wild animals which include the African Elephant, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest among other African animals. There is also a variety of Kenyan birds, both large and small.


The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet Maasai and visit a Maasai village. The park also offers spectacular views of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Amboseli National Parks accommodation are mainly lodges and tented camps with a focus to game viewing drives as well as stunning views of the Mount Kilimanjaro. The main type of hotels are luxury and standard based ones.

Moreover some accommodations are set outside the park but with close distances to entry of the main park. We strongly recommend those that are in the park such as Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge and Ol Tukai Lodge which offer great views of the large herds of the elephants as well as the Kilimanjaro.
