About Botswana

Botswana African Safaris offer some of the most rewarding wildlife and wilderness experiences in Southern Africa. From the vast seasonal floodplains of the Okavango Delta, the mopane forests on the banks of the Chobe River to the evocative Kalahari Desert and the surreal Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, a Botswana Safari is an unforgettable vacation experience, whether you choose a camping or fly in luxury safari staying at safari lodges, we can recommend to you.

The prime highlight of a Botswana safari and one of the best wildlife areas in Southern Africa is most definitely the renowned Okavango Delta with the Moremi Wildlife Reserve at its heart. Most visitors include this jewel as a ‘must visit’ for their Botswana safari. Another gem that is worth visiting is the Chobe National Park in the North. Botswana offers boating and poling in Mokoro canoes, walking safaris, day and night game drives and even houseboats and fishing as well as horse safaris in the Okavango Delta area.

Another highlight of Botswana is the fact that it is home to some of the last remaining communities of San Bushmen who live in the harsh landscape of the Kalahari Desert. Vision Adventure Safaris has links with some of the Bushmen communities, allowing us to introduce you to the unique way of life of this indigenous people. Whilst Botswana is primarily a wildlife safari destination, including time to meet the people can be great.

Reasons to Visit Rwanda

Floodplains of the Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is a magical oasis – water in the desert is a wonderful sight. The wide, grassy floodplains are host to a magnificent range of wild animals, including the specially adapted sitatunga and lechwe antelopes.

Big Five Wildlife Safari
Lions are often on the prowl in the morning while night game drives increase your chances of spotting leopard and other nocturnal species. As well as the cats there are thriving populations of elephant, hippo, giraffe, buffalo and even wild dog.

Bird watching
From the water birds of the Delta to the sand grouse of the Kalari and flamingos on the Makgadikgadi Pans, Botswana is a twitcher’s paradise. Rare species like the Pel’s fishing owl, and African pygmy goose are commonly found, with a trip to Chobe.

Mokoro (dugout canoe) trips
Gliding through the Delta’s mazy waterways and tall papyrus in a mokoro is the most relaxing way to view game. Serenely moving along with only the gurgle of the water passing under your craft, you come across lechwe grazing, kingfishers perched on branches and other wild animals.

Combine with a visit to the nearby Victoria Falls
Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park are within easy distance with the neighbouring Zambia which offers the best views of Botswana, superb accommodation in exquisite locations as well as very exciting activities within the environs near the Victoria Falls.
